⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY AND LEGAL WARNINGS

For All Devices:

  • Read all instructions before installation and use.

  • Follow installation instructions carefully. Improper installation can cause malfunction, property damage, or injury.

  • Use only manufacturer-approved power adapters and batteries.

Audio Recording Laws (Critical):

  • You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding audio and video recording.

  • California is a two-party consent state – recording audio without all parties' consent may violate California Penal Code §632, carrying criminal penalties of up to $2,500 per violation and 1 year in jail. We strongly recommend disabling audio recording on all security cameras in California.

  • Other states have varying consent requirements (one-party vs. two-party). Consult legal counsel if unsure.

  • Placing cameras where individuals have a reasonable expectation of privacy (bathrooms, bedrooms, neighbor's enclosed backyard) may violate California Penal Code §647(j) and similar laws in other states.

Video Surveillance:

  • You are responsible for camera placement and ensuring compliance with local laws.

  • Posting a notice that video recording is in progress is recommended for transparency.

Smart Door Locks:

  • Do not rely solely on smart locks for security; keep mechanical keys accessible.

  • Test lock functionality after installation and periodically.

  • Keep backup keys in a secure location.

  • Replace batteries as indicated by low-battery warnings.

3. Compliance Standards

  • FCC Part 15: All wireless devices comply with FCC regulations for RF emissions and EMC.

  • UL 294: Smart locks meet UL 294 safety standards where applicable.

  • CCPA: We comply with California Consumer Privacy Act requirements for handling personal data.

  • COPPA: Products are not directed at children under 13.
